The Projector

This is a view of the whole projector. It is manufactured by Spitz Laboratories, Inc, headquartered in Brandywine PA. Visit "spitzinc.com" for their website. I found, and you'll see in other photographs, indications of the company being located in New York. This is an old model, I don't know how old. It looks like "System 512" model but that's a digital system and I have the impression that this is an analog projector. Here's the full view of the projector that includes the rest of the supporting projection devicesl.

Projector Closeups

Whatever in the world a "Bolide Projector" is, this is a picture of it. |
The ControllerWhen I was in the US Navy, the ship I was on had been built in 1941 for WW2. I worked in the Main Engine Room. This control panel gave me flashbacks of that period in my life. Toggle switches. Large Rheostats. Analog meters. These allusions tell me that the the whole planetarium is analog, not digital, and may be of 1960 or 1970 vintage.

The TelescopesThese are the several telescopes they have simply stagnating and crying for use. They are stored here, behind the seating area. The instructor said that they were very anxous to get them into use.               |
